Changing definition of Classroom management with virtual classrooms

 The role of technology in our daily lives has become more distinct today. Technology has given a new meaning to every industry, especially education. Virtual classrooms are an outcome of the pandemic since the regular classes were impossible to conduct. The virtual class made teaching and learning possible and is safe in times like this. The shift was not just from classrooms to screens, but the entire system got rearranged. The primary functions of a classroom/school that involves instructions, attendance, conducting exams, and allocating the fund have become virtual now. An integrated learning system surfaced to save the sector from severe catastrophe. It makes the management of classes easy and efficient.



 

Rise of Virtual classrooms: The risk factor involved in physical classes had pushed schools to move ahead with virtual classrooms. The teachers and school management have been able to deliver quality education through online classes. The future of the education world now depends on virtual learning. With the emergence of these kinds of classes, classroom management has become effortless and efficient. Previously the chalk and board method was limited and not equally satisfactory for everyone. Now the classrooms have become technology-based and have become accessible to everyone at any time of the day. Students interactions with the teachers have become more comfortable. The teachers can pay more attention to students now with the help of various tools and can identify and fix learning gaps, making these virtual classrooms more productive. 

 

Advantages of Virtual Classrooms:

 

·        Self-paced learning: Remote learning helps students and teachers to involve in learning and teaching procedure from anywhere. The students can now record the classes and discussions to refer to later. This helps the students to learn at their own pace.

 

·        Self-dependent:  Online classes have provided new ways of creating a routine for students. They work on a structure of weekly online classes and assignments. However, students can still set their timeline for various subjects accordingly. This makes them self reliable and confident. 

 

·        Time management: The students divide their time based on their needs. Some students can choose to spend more time on a particular subject that is hard for them and less on an easy subject. The parents are also more involved in their ward’s education as they have more time in their hands now with the online classes. They can sit with their children for classes and can guide them.

 

·        Easy to access and cost-effective: Students can access study materials from anywhere now. Online classes make it possible for students and teachers to conduct classes from anywhere. It saves a lot of time and money for both the students and teachers that were earlier consumed in travelling back and forth to school. 

 

·        Flexible classes: Virtual classes are more flexible than physical classes. Therefore they are relatively easier to manage and conduct as well. Now a teacher can take classes from her home while looking after her kids as well. The students can participate in the online classes while being in the comfort of their homes.

 

·        Interactive and optimized learning: The virtual classroom helps the students and teachers be more focused and efficient. The regular task of roll calls and official formalities are now being taken care of by online management systems that offer more time for teachers to invest their total energy and attention to students.

 

Conclusion: Children are educated in their academic subjects and are proficient in technology from an early age. The virtual classrooms have made it easy for the students and teacher’s community to connect compared to the physical classrooms. The physical classrooms had always been a task to manage. It involved many workforces and was time-consuming. The virtual classes, on the contrary, have made the teaching process more efficient and fun for students. Technology has made classroom management much easier through virtual classrooms. Technology has provided us with software and apps for the overall management of schools which has provided us best virtual classrooms experience.
